Swiss Observation for the Day: Religion Tax. , I registered with the foreign police as a Catholic (if you remember my story from a couple of weeks ago, it made the conservative police officer suddently friendly to me). Well, I found out why. I got charged a 30 franc additional registration fee to get my Swiss ID card as a 'religion tax'. The only way you can avoid this is by having no religion. After visiting the Vatican, I can't even begin to imagine why the Catholic church needs my money...
