I think I managed to accidentally offend a pair of Jehovah's Witnesses today. (Seriously, I listen respectfully, given my agnostic status, I figure I owe religious people at least a few minutes to attempt to convince me. Plus anyway who has the guts to go door to door to preach their unpopular religion has at least somewhat of my respect... who would have guessed that I would end up using the Dutch Church's complicity in apartheid as an example of my problems with organized religion.. before finding out one of the woman was a South African who had fled SA right after apartheid ended.)
Otherwise I had a typical weekend.
I went sailboat racing on Saturday in the "icicle series". I don't think it really counts as icicle as it was a pleasant 70 degrees. We won, I mean kicked ass, won. Which is always nice. It was a pretty great day for sailing.
Today I was more of a vegetable. I gave Apache a bath and took her on a long walk. Then I dealt with my "book problem." I have three bookshelves lining a wall in my study. The books were stacked two layers deep. So last week when Ikea had a sale (talk about a mob scene), I bought two more bookshelves to fill the empty space left by Cari's desk. And a printer stand (Byron's printer had been living on the floor). So I spread out all the books between the two shelves. Much to my surprise, there was actually some empty space when I finished this project.
This means I can keep buying books!
Which, of course, fill up the entire house, from the built-ins in the living room, to the stack of to-be-read next to my bed. There's always room for a few more books, right?
