Ring

Last night was another fun fish night. They certainly do end earlier with two adorable babies though. Most adorable baby moment of the night: Carina is learning to crawl. We're all making "come here puppy" noises and motions with her toys trying to get her to crawl. She got excited, but would not move. Jen's like, "She'll crawl for paper" and she pulls a torn up envelope off my counter and puts it on the floor and Carina took off! Yep, no crawling for toys, but, heck, for paper, apparently that baby will scale a building.

As for dinner we had grilled salmon and shrimp shish kabobs (and couscous and salad). Everything was super-yummy and there are actually leftovers which will be even yummier tonight.

But most importantly, our substitute cleaning lady arrived today! Now, our long-time cleaning lady has been gone about 2 months on maternity leave and plans on another month. As such, our house has not actually been cleaned in two months. Cari and I have lifted a few fingers to sweep up dog hair, I even ran the vacuum once and Cari mopped. But really we've just left everything to steadily degrade. The new cleaning lady was totally overwhelmed, she called this morning and was like "What do I do, your vacuum cleaner won't get all the dog hairs!" Yes, it is actually physically impossible to remove dog hairs from my completely trashed carpets (three rooms still need their flooring replaced...) Cari said when she arrived she was like "I'm not sure I'll find time to do the windows." Ha ha, windows. And we were just hoping for general slime removal.

Jen is the lead for our office for this next mission. Her phone is ringing off the hook. I know this because I share her office. Ring ring ring, all day every day. Must mean she's important and needs a secretary. Or it means her mission is going to launch in a few days.

When Byron left for work yesterday, he was supposed to be back on Friday night. Sadly, however, now that he officially resigned to move onto a far better job flying super-sexy 747's (yes, you could say I think that's a cooler aircraft than a boring CRJ), his current company is messing with his schedule from now until his last day. So rather than getting him back, he spends 30 hours in Springfield, Illinois. Oh all the world's nicest places... I guess that means I won't see him until next week sometime. Well, I'll be absorbed in mission-maddness pretty soon anyway. Still, its always a little lonely and quiet when he's out of town.

Piles Of Rock
A little bit of hope for the places I'll go, a few memories of the places I've been, and some humdrum in between to fill the white space.
