Comments are still closed. Last night I tried to implement a system that had one extra entry in the comments form to fool spammers, but required rebuilding my whole blog. That failed miserably. For some reason, every time I rebuild, it gets hung up around the 400th entry (of 1600). Not to mention, even when I looked at the rebuilt pages, the comment field hadn't sucked in the new security. I also tried closing comments on only entries with a script (would suck to have to go in individually) since most of my spam goes to old entries. Unfortunately, the scripts appear to be written for an older version of movable type, so they didn't seem to work. In the mean time, last night I got another 1000 spam comments. They were on moderation, so none of them got published. But even if I left moderation on, I wouldn't be able to sort your comments out, friendly users, from the spam.

So, everything will stay off until I have more time to deal with it. Sorry. I do have e-mail, though, if you want to chat.
