We've had a couple of weeks of spotty home Internet, despite one visit from the repair guy and another one scheduled next week. I have cable Internet, and haven't had any problems for over two years. I was actually contemplating getting rid of the home phone line and going to the cable company for alarm monitoring and using broadband for the TiVO. But, this has just reminded me that it would be insane to do that. My land line is probably the only electronic service in the house that I've never had to get repaired.
Anyway, I've had a great weekend of eating well (got the *best* wild salmon *ever* from Whole Foods yesterday) and I've read 3+ books already since Friday night. I completed Blink about the power and mistakes of intuition. Then I moved onto a really trashy book with a stilleto heel and a pentagram on the cover (Dime Store Magic). Then, onto a juvenile book that I recently read a review about - Uglies. I love a good dystopia, even if its written for teenagers. I'll definitely be buying the sequel, Pretties. Then, last night in one reading frenzy, I read Alive, which I can't believe I hadn't read before! Though it wasn't everything I expected from this classic survival story, it was a worthwhile read. Oh yeah, and I've seen two movies that received bad reviews but I enjoyed - X-Men 3 (though, how dare they mess with the myth! the others just messed with the timeline for dramatic effect, but this one definitely took a lot more liberties!) and Di Vinci Code.
Clearly I have gotten the most out of doing nothing this three day weekend.
Now its storming so loudly its like the sky is falling. I was supposed to go flying this afternoon, but I'm guessing the weather is definitely VFR-not-recommended.
